What the airport operator says

The Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) operates Banjul International Airport. Its airport page says international scheduled and charter carriers use the airport. It lists Dakar, Accra, Lagos, Brussels, London and Barcelona among destinations 1.

The same page names Gambia Bird Airlines as the national carrier 1. The page is undated, and this site did not confirm that Gambia Bird flies today. Check with the airline before you book.

The GCAA does not publish a current list of airlines or a timetable on the pages this site opened 1.

Airlines selling flights to Banjul

The table lists airlines whose own pages, or press reports with a named reporter, show flights to Banjul. It is not a full list. An airline page that sells a fare does not show whether the flight is direct or has a stop.

Other counts

The report gives direct transit passengers on top of these totals, 27,153 in 2021 2. Its rows for 2017 and 2018 show far fewer arrivals than departures, so this site does not use them 2.

The national aviation safety plan dated November 2025 counts 26,281 movements from 2019 to 2024. It uses a different count from the statistics bureau 4.

A WFP assessment with 2011 figures said three regular flights linked The Gambia with the rest of the world. It said peak tourist season brought up to 41 flights a week, mostly charters from Europe 3. In 2011 it counted 1,767 scheduled and 1,704 non-scheduled international movements 3. These figures are historical.
